Wasa Sinfonietta: Save The Woods - charity concert
The proceeds from the "Save the Trees" charity concert will be donated to the Vaasa City Garden Department to purchase trees as an environmental action for Vaasa’s playgrounds and daycare yards, bringing joy to the children of Vaasa. The concert is part of the orchestra association’s 95th anniversary theme year: "Music for Everyone - Wasa Sinfonietta Doing Good."

Ecem Baltaci was born in Istanbul in 1998 and began studying the bassoon in 2009 at the Mimar Sinan University of Fine Arts State Conservatory under Assistant Professor Cenk Aktalay. She continued her studies in Mannheim with Professor Ole Kristian Dahl.
Baltaci has performed as a substitute musician with, among others, the Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra, German Wind Philharmonic, Heidelberger Sinfoniker, Mannheimer Kammerphilharmonie, Kurpfälzisches Kammerorchester, and Joensuu City Orchestra. Since August 2024, she has served as principal bassoonist of the Vaasa City Orchestra.
The program also includes Handel’s "Music for the Royal Fireworks" and Steve Reich’s minimalist work "Pulse."
The concert will be conducted by Mariam Junolainen, who is perhaps better known as a harpist and has frequently performed with the Vaasa City Orchestra in recent years.
