Sipoon äänet - Sibbo toner 2023
Sipoon Äänet is organized for the seventh time! The festival is, as usual, a distinctive mix of the familiar and the unknown, something very old and brand new. We are proud to welcome Rolf Lislevand, the master of old keyboards. He has been one of the world's most prominent and respected lute and baroque guitar players for decades and this is his first solo concert in Finland. The Finnish Baroque Orchestra continues our theme of early music in a Mediterranean atmosphere, with soloists Lislevand and the festival's artistic director Petri Kumela. You can find surprising and strange sounds in a concert built around Tytti Arola's sound art, where top musicians and electronics meet. Arola is one of the most interesting young Finnish composers of experimental music and the concert will feature a composition for microwave ovens and popcorn as well as the premiere of a brand new
piece. During the festival you can also participate in a ukulele-workshop and take part in a nice concert in a unique milieu at the Savijärvi manor.
This can only ever happen in Sipoo!

The course is intended for beginners of all ages and those, who are already a little familiar with the ukulele. During the course you will learn to accompany with chords and use fun accompaniments. Tytti Arola and friends - Hearing perspectives
In the concert put together by sound artist Tytti Arola various instruments and objects are presented from a new perspective. The audience will experience a bandoneon equipped with electronics, a kinetic audiobook and a composition for microwave ovens and popcorn. The concert also includes a premiere of Arola's new works for double bass and guitar as well as multi-channel music.

Our artistic director, Petri Kumela, will perform in a small and intimate concert on Saturday the 7th of October at 14 pm.
Savijärvi Manor is a beautiful old manor and a popular venue for weddings. The manor is also well-known for its riding school. During the festival Petri Kumela will perform in the main building, built in 1890. Tickets for the concert are only sold in advance and with limited seatings. The concert lasts about an hour and the ticket include coffee and cake.
A warm welcome to the unique manor milieu for some great live music!
Rolf Lislevand - Scaramanzia
Scaramanzia can be defined as a spell or incantation, and you realize it when Rolf Lislevand starts to play. Lislevand is one of the world's most famous players of early plucked string instruments, and his unique, heavily historical but highly improvisational playing style is pure magic. In addition, he will play his first ever solo concert in Finland at the Sound of Sipoo International Guitar Festival!
FiBO - Swinging Mediterranean
The Finnish Baroque Orchestra makes melodies sing and rhythms sparkle! This year, the course is set for the Mediterranean and the soloists are guitar virtuosos Rolf Lislevand and Petri Kumela.
